Message and request from the Club President

I would like to welcome everybody to March Bears RUFC 2009/2010 season.

The 2008/2009 season was a moderate success, games being cancelled at short notice did not help playeres moral, several people working hard in the back ground with Captain Ben Saxby to put teams out.

The success of the season was the formation of the Legends XV, which brought together several new and former players from around the area.Skipper Paul Galloway working tirelessly to ensure twenty plus players turned up to play at each game, majority declared that they only turned up for the after match refreshments and entertainment.

The youths had a successful season, with a number of wins, and at times playing rugby that would put several senior players to shame.

After several years not having a permanent home to play at, local businessman Peter Skouldings company Snowmountain Investments generously purchased the BRAZA sports field, for Rugby, Athletics and Football in the town of March.

An association was setup 'Elm Road Sports Field Association' (www.ersfa.org.uk) with two members from each sports club to be come directors, with responsibilties for the running and maintenance of the field and its facilities.

The Association now have the field on a long term lease, allowing them to improve the facilities at the sports field.

The 2009/2010 season sees the club again staying in the Green King Premiere Merit Table.

The club has new captains for the 1st XV and Legends XV.

Todd Woolard and Andy Larham respectively, I wish them both a successfull season, both skippers would welcome old and new players to play for either side.

The youths are looking forward to this season, and would welcome youngsters interested in playing rugby, i also wish them a successful season
